These ideas are for those who wish to prepare, recycle, reuse and organize themselves right now and in the case of an emergency. All of the things listed are good to do now in the good times. Some still have applications in the event of an extreme emergency with no power. I Thought all the practical Preppers would like this list of ways to be ready for anything.
Now again, in the case of an extended emergency, some of these ideas won't work like if the power goes out and you have no means of power generation, especially if its a long term power outage, like in the case of an EMP or electromagnetic pulse. (read more about EMP's here)
If an EMP happened then it would possibly be for at least a few months, possibly years or for good depending how wide spread it was. An EMP could very likely result from natural means like Intense Solar Flares or terrorist firing a rocket high enough in the air with only an EMP generator or with nuclear material. EMPs from Solar Flare activity and nuclear test detonations have happened before in the past, and have knocked out power on a small scale.
